NHAI to Plant 81,000 Saplings for MP's First 10-Lane Road
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is going to plant 81,000 saplings as part of a big road project in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.
They are widening the Ayodhya Bypass from four lanes to ten lanes to make the road safer and less crowded.
This will help manage the traffic better, which is currently more than the road can handle.
To make up for the trees that need to be cut down, they will plant new saplings in different places around Bhopal.
Last year, they planted 50,000 saplings using a special method, and those trees have grown quite tall.
The new plan also reduces the number of trees that need to be cut down while ensuring safety and protecting the environment.
NHAI announced a compensatory plantation drive for the Ayodhya Bypass widening project in Bhopal.
81,000 saplings will be planted to offset the felling of 7,871 trees.
The project will transform the existing four-lane bypass into Madhya Pradesh’s first 10-lane road.
The upgraded corridor is designed to manage projected traffic volumes until 2050.
The saplings will be planted along the bypass, on revenue forest land, and in coordination with the Bhopal Municipal Corporation.
