Schoolchildren Compete in GeoMap Quiz Finals
A big quiz called the GeoMap Quiz Finals happened in Hyderabad.
About 400 school kids competed in different map-based tasks.
They had to do things like moving from a map to a real place, solving problems using maps, and learning about the Musi River.
Important people like the former Surveyor General of India were there to support the event.
The kids had to think quickly and use maps as tools, not just pictures in books.
Three schools won the top spots.
The organizers want to make the quiz even bigger next year with more schools and fun activities.
About 400 students competed in the GeoMap Quiz Finals held at the Exhibition Grounds in Nampally, Hyderabad.
The event followed a preliminary round in November with 2,500 students from 25 schools.
Modules included MapFun, map analytics, planning exercises, and Musi River development tasks.
Swarna Subba Rao, former Surveyor General of India, and Raghavaswamy, former scientist at the National Remote Sensing Centre, attended as chief guest and guest of honour respectively.
Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Vidyashram, DAV BDL High School Bhanur, and PNM High School secured top positions in different categories.
