Indore and Tripura Universities Partner to Preserve Tribal Heritage

Indore and Tripura Universities Partner to Preserve Tribal Heritage

Two universities—Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya in Indore and Tripura University in Agartala—have agreed to work together for five years.

They want to study and help preserve Tribal cultures and languages.

One goal is to make digital records of stories, art and knowledge that might otherwise be lost.

Kokborok and local dialects are among the languages they hope to document.

Students and teachers may visit each other's universities and conduct field studies in Tribal regions.

The universities may also develop joint or dual-degree courses.

They plan to research topics such as Tribal businesses, eco-tourism and sustainable ways to earn a living.

DAVV's vice chancellor said the partnership would give students and researchers wider opportunities.
