55% of QIP Companies Trade Below Issue Price
A study found that 55% of companies that raised money through a special method called QIP in 2025 are now worth less than when they raised that money.
In 2024, companies raised a lot more money this way, but in 2025, only 35 companies raised Rs 71,000 crore.
The State Bank of India (SBI) raised the most, Rs 25,000 crore, which is 35% of the total.
Some companies, like Centum Electronics, did really well and doubled their value.
But others, like IREDA and Kaynes Tech, did not do so well.
Some smaller companies also saw their value drop.
This shows that not all companies that raise money this way do well afterwards.
55% of companies that raised funds through QIP in 2025 are trading below their issue price.
In 2024, Rs 1.36 lakh crore were raised through QIP, compared to Rs 71,000 crore in 2025 by 35 companies.
SBI mobilized 35% of the total funds raised in 2025, amounting to Rs 25,000 crore.
Top 10 companies, including Swiggy, CG Power, Hitachi Energy, and Biocon, comprised 76% of the funds raised in 2025.
Centum Electronics recorded the highest returns of 101%, while SBI saw a 20% stock jump.
