Assam to Open 10 More Co-Districts for Local Governance
Assam is splitting up some of its existing districts to make it easier for people to get services.
Think of it like creating smaller, local offices within a bigger office.
Ten new of these local offices, called co-districts, are opening this week.
This means people won't have to travel as far to get help with things like land issues or welfare programs.
These new co-districts are designed to help those in remote areas.
This is the second time Assam has done this, expanding its local governance.
Assam is creating 10 new "co-districts," bringing the total to 49.
The co-districts aim to improve service delivery and reduce travel times.
Eight co-districts will open on Tuesday, and two on Wednesday.
Co-districts will manage various administrative functions.
This is the second phase of the state's administrative reorganization.
