Chennai Traffic Restrictions for Republic Day
The Greater Chennai Traffic Police have announced traffic restrictions and diversions for Republic Day celebrations and rehearsals.
Kamarajar Salai will be closed from 6 a.m.
to 9:30 a.m.
on January 19, 21, 23, and 26.
Vehicles will be diverted through alternative routes like R.K. Mutt Road and Thiruvenkadam Street.
The Anna Square Bus Terminus will be temporarily moved to Chintadripet Railway Station.
Motorists are advised to plan their travel in advance and cooperate with traffic personnel during the restriction period.
Kamarajar Salai closed from 6 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on January 19, 21, 23, and 26 for Republic Day rehearsals and celebrations.
Commercial vehicles from Adyar to Parrys Corner diverted through R.K. Mutt Road, Thiruvenkadam Street, and other routes.
All other vehicles, including MTC buses, diverted at the Gandhi Statue towards R.K. Salai and other alternative routes.
Complete closure beyond specific junctions with diversions via Ice House Junction or Bells Road.
Anna Square Bus Terminus temporarily shifted to Chintadripet Railway Station.
