Pakistan Warns India Could Use Water as Weapon

Pakistan says India’s decision about a water-sharing agreement has created a new problem.

The agreement is called the Indus Waters Treaty.

Pakistan’s planning minister, Ahsan Iqbal, is worried about the water supply for crops.

He says India might hold back water when farmers need it most.

He also says India might release water when it is not needed.

Pakistan describes this as using water like a weapon.

The report does not include India’s response.

The warning was made in Islamabad.
