Lt Governor Seeks CBI, NIA Probe into Spurious Drugs in Puducherry
The Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry has asked the CBI and NIA to investigate the making of fake medicines in the area.
This is because a local medicine company complained about this, and it seems people from different states are involved.
The fake medicines were sent to many states in India.
Some political parties and leaders also asked for this investigation because they think a central agency can find out the full truth.
Puducherry Lieutenant Governor K Kailashnathan recommended a CBI and NIA probe into the alleged manufacture of spurious drugs.
The investigation follows a complaint from a Puducherry-based pharma company about spurious drugs being produced in its name.
Several political parties, social activists, and senior Congress leader V Narayanasamy have also requested a CBI probe.
The spurious drugs were supplied to multiple states across India.
The involvement of persons from different states has been noted in the scam.
