India Adds Seven Sites to UNESCO World Heritage List
India has added seven more places to a list of sites that could become UNESCO World Heritage sites.
This means India now has 69 sites under consideration by UNESCO.
The new sites include unique geological locations like lava flows, rock formations, caves, and hills.
These sites offer a look into Earth's history, including ancient rock formations from millions of years ago.
Being on the list is an important step towards becoming a full World Heritage site.
These sites show off India's commitment to protecting its amazing natural and cultural history.
Seven new sites across India are included in UNESCO’s Tentative List.
India's total sites on the list increase from 62 to 69.
The list includes 49 cultural, 17 natural, and 3 mixed heritage sites.
The sites include the Deccan Traps, St. Mary's Island, and Meghalayan caves.
Inclusion on the Tentative List is a prerequisite for World Heritage nomination.
