Judge Questions Trump Kennedy Center Naming Plan Amid Demolition Warning

Judge Questions Trump Kennedy Center Naming Plan Amid Demolition Warning

A court is considering whether Donald Trump’s name can be added to the Kennedy Center.

The center’s board wants to put his name beside John F. Kennedy’s name.

Joyce Beatty, a lawmaker and board member, is suing over the decision.

Judge Christopher Cooper questioned why the center wants to add the name before he decides whether it is legal.

The judge did not make a final decision.

The Justice Department says the building needs major repairs and could lose donors without Trump’s name.

Howard Lutnick said the building might eventually be demolished if Trump cannot renovate it, but he said that will not happen soon.

The court may temporarily stop the name change while the lawsuit continues.
