Gogoi Demands Digital Voters List
Gaurav Gogoi, a Congress leader, is asking the Election Commission of India to make a digital voter list that machines can read.
He thinks this will help people trust the election process more.
He made this request at a press conference and said that after the Bihar elections, many people have lost faith in the Election Commission.
He also wants the voter lists to be completely digital and managed by software to prevent mistakes.
Additionally, he asked for the Election Commission to tell the public about any problems that might stop them from using modern voter list formats and to keep a strict record of any changes made to the voter lists.
Gaurav Gogoi, Congress MP and APCC president, urged the Election Commission of India to introduce a machine-readable voter list.
He claimed that public trust in the Election Commission has diminished after the Bihar elections.
Gogoi made four key demands: immediate rollout of machine-readable electoral rolls, complete digitization of voter lists, public disclosure of limitations preventing modern voter roll formats, and a strict audit trail for any changes made to the voter lists.
He raised these demands at a press conference in Jorhat.
Gogoi stated that these measures are necessary to regain public trust in the Election Commission.
