Nhava Sheva Meth Seizure Puts Alleged ISI-Linked Trafficker Under Scrutiny

Nhava Sheva Meth Seizure Puts Alleged ISI-Linked Trafficker Under Scrutiny

Indian authorities found 55 kilograms of an illegal drug near Mumbai’s Nhava Sheva port.

They say the drugs were hidden inside a shipment of maize.

The shipment was being prepared for export by several businesses.

Officials have focused on Mohammad Hassan Hussain Dad, whom they describe as an important international drug trafficker.

They allege that he operates from Kandahar and has links to Pakistan’s intelligence agency and Lashkar-e-Tayiba.

Authorities also say money from the drug trade may be moved through informal banking networks.

They believe some of this money could support terrorism.

The National Investigation Agency has previously named Hussain in a chargesheet.

Officials are concerned that future shipments could be even larger.
