Telangana Orders New Probe into Dharani Portal Irregularities
The Telangana state government decided to investigate problems with a land records website called Dharani.
They set up a special team, led by a police officer named Charu Sinha, to look into more than 10,000 suspicious transactions.
The team will check how land was changed or used illegally.
The government hasn’t said how long the investigation will take, which worries some people.
The revenue minister, Srinivas Reddy, said the team will work quickly and try to punish anyone who broke the rules.
Telangana Cabinet ordered a new probe into Dharani portal irregularities on July 17, 2024.
The Special Enquiry Team (SET) will investigate over 10,000 suspicious transactions flagged by a forensic audit.
SET is headed by senior IPS officer Charu Sinha, ADGP (CID) and Director‑General, ACB.
No timeframe for completion has been issued, raising concerns about the seriousness of the investigation.
Revenue Minister Srinivas Reddy said the probe will be fast‑track and aim to bring those responsible for illegal land occupation to justice.
