Telangana Transfers IPS Officers
The Telangana government moved seven police officers to new jobs on December 24, 2025.
The orders were announced by the Home Department.
Each officer was given a different role in the police department.
For example, one officer was moved to the CID, and another was assigned to the Cyberabad police.
The changes were made to reorganize the senior police officials in the state.
Additionally, the Telangana High Court directed the state government to continue the process of forwarding a panel of eligible senior IPS officers to the Union Public Service Commission for the appointment of the state's director general of police.
This follows a petition challenging the appointment of an acting DGP, which the petitioner argues violates Supreme Court rulings.
The Telangana government transferred seven IPS officers on December 24, 2025.
The Home Department issued the transfer orders through G.O.Rt.No.1124.
K Prasad was posted as SP CID, replacing K Venkata Lakshmi.
I. Pooja was transferred to Hyderabad as SP (Administration) at the TG Command Control Centre.
The Telangana High Court directed the state government to comply with Supreme Court directives for the selection of the next state police chief.
