Telangana Requests FCI to Lift More Parboiled Rice
The minister from Telangana asked the Food Corporation of India to take more parboiled rice from the state.
He said they need an extra 10 lakh metric tonnes because there's a lot stored in their warehouses.
This is causing delays in delivering custom milled rice.
The minister also asked for more train cars to move the rice and for the delivery time to be extended by 60 days.
He mentioned that the current storage spaces are full and asked for more storage capacity.
Telangana's Civil Supplies Minister requested FCI to lift additional parboiled rice stocks.
The Centre's target is 30 lakh metric tonnes, with an additional 10 lakh metric tonnes requested.
Accumulated stocks in FCI godowns are delaying custom milled rice (CMR) deliveries.
The minister sought additional railway rakes for transporting parboiled rice.
Storage capacity issues and restrictions on renting godowns are causing delays in CMR deliveries.
