Maharashtra to Withdraw 13 FIRs Against CJP Protesters
Maharashtra decided to drop 13 police complaints that were filed against people who joined a protest for the Cockroach Janata Party.
The complaints were about a rumor that the NEET exam paper was leaked.
The state will use a special rule that lets the police finish their investigation and then ask a court to cancel the complaints.
This rule usually takes a long time, but the state wants to finish it faster.
The people who were arrested in Mumbai’s Dadar area are part of these complaints.
The process is similar to how the state handled other protest cases in the past.
Maharashtra will withdraw 13 FIRs against protesters supporting the Cockroach Janata Party over alleged NEET paper leak.
Withdrawal will follow the Government Resolution process, requiring police to file chargesheets and court approval.
The state aims to expedite the process, though it may still take six months to a year.
Protesters were detained in Dadar, Mumbai, and nearly 20 FIRs are pending investigation.
The process mirrors earlier withdrawals for protests on Aarey tree‑felling and the JNU attack.
