Bhopal Raids Luxury Hotels in Widened Food Safety Drive

Food safety officials and city officers checked expensive hotels and restaurants in Bhopal.

They found violations of food safety rules at some establishments.

Nearly 90 challans were issued, and 90 cases were registered.

The authorities collected Rs 5.80 lakh in fines.

The checks included places such as Bansal One, DB Mall and restaurants on Narmadapuram Road.

Officials said food adulteration in Madhya Pradesh has been decreasing over four years.

The failure rate fell from 18% in 2021-22 to 11.7% in 2024-25.

However, testing can be slowed because the state has limited food and drug laboratories.
