L&DO Resumes Freehold Conversion Using Delhi Circle Rates
The Land and Development Office (L&DO) in Delhi has decided to restart the process of converting leasehold properties to freehold after a pause of over three years.
They will use the circle rates last notified by the Delhi government in 2014 to determine the rates for conversion charges and other fees.
This decision comes as a relief to property owners who have been waiting for this conversion.
The L&DO administers around 60,000 properties and controls about 7% of Delhi's land.
The detailed guidelines for the conversion charges and other rates are still being worked out and will be published soon.
The Delhi High Court had previously ordered the L&DO to complete the revision of rates within four months, but this deadline was missed.
