TIPRA Motha to Contest 25-30 Seats in 2027 Tripura Assembly
The TIPRA Motha Party (TMP) in Tripura, led by Pradyot Debbarma, has decided to contest fewer seats in the next state assembly elections in 2027.
They will contest 25-30 seats instead of the 42 they contested in 2023, where they won 13 seats.
The party believes that by focusing on fewer seats, they can help prevent the BJP from winning again.
The TMP is also preparing for the upcoming elections in the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) in April 2026.
Debbarma says the TMP is the strongest political force among the indigenous communities and will continue to fight for their rights.
He criticized other parties like Congress, CPI(M), and BJP for not doing enough for the indigenous people.
