Apple Delays Upgraded Siri to 2026 Due to Tech Issues
Apple's new and improved Siri, designed to be smarter, is delayed until Spring 2026.
It was supposed to launch sooner but had problems with the technology.
Apple is rebuilding Siri completely.
This delay has caused other projects, like a smart home device, to be pushed back too.
The new Siri will have better AI to help you with your devices, but it's taking longer than expected to get it right.
Upgraded Siri launch delayed to spring 2026 as part of iOS 26.4.
The delay is due to technical issues with merging the old Siri system with a new AI platform.
Apple is rebuilding Siri using a new large language model called "Siri LLM".
Apple's AI chief was removed from leading consumer-facing AI products; the project is now overseen by Mike Rockwell and Craig Federighi.
The delay also impacts other projects, including a smart home hub and AI-enabled smart glasses.
