Karnataka Finance Dept Flags High Compensation for Waste Management Land
Imagine the government wants to build a new trash processing center near a big city.
They need to buy a lot of land for it.

Karnataka Finance Department expressed concern over increased compensation costs for land designated for an Integrated Solid Waste Management (ISWM) unit.
The Finance Department warned that higher compensation could disrupt the government's standard land acquisition pricing and lead to numerous similar demands.
A Cabinet decision last Thursday approved an 11% increase in compensation for 60 acres of land owned by Terra Firma Biotechnologies Ltd.
The ISWM project requires a total of 134 acres and 10 guntas of land in Bengaluru Rural district.
The identified land includes government-owned plots, land from Terra Firma Biotechnologies Ltd, and parcels from other private owners.
