Broken Glass Drives Early Smartphone Replacement in India
A new study found that many people in India replace their smartphones earlier than planned because the glass breaks easily.
The study surveyed over 1,500 people and found that more than half had to buy a new phone because the screen broke.
Almost everyone had dropped their phone at least once, and many were worried about it breaking.
Broken screens can be expensive to fix, and people feel stressed when it happens.
The study also showed that people care about how durable their phone is and are willing to pay more for better protection.
A well-known brand, Gorilla Glass, is trusted by many for its durability.
53% of Indian smartphone users replaced their phone earlier due to broken glass.
87% of respondents dropped their device at least once in the past year.
56% felt anxious about drops due to concerns over cover-glass durability.
61% of respondents said durability claims influenced their purchase decisions.
66% were familiar with Corning Gorilla Glass, and 64% would consider a smartphone featuring it.
