Odisha to restore polluted Gangua canal
The Odisha government had a big meeting to talk about cleaning up a very dirty canal called Gangua Nala in Bhubaneswar.
This canal connects two rivers and is full of yucky stuff from the city's drains.
Important people like the Urban Development Minister and other officials were there.
They want to fix the canal and also make a park called Nicco Park better.
They want to do all this before the rainy season so the city is cleaner and safer.
They also want to make sure all the work gets done on time and is good quality.
A high-level meeting was held to expedite the Gangua Nala Improvement Project in Bhubaneswar.
The Gangua canal is severely polluted due to effluents from city drains and sewerage lines.
The National Green Tribunal and pollution control agencies have directed the state to stop effluent discharge into the canal.
