Shia Board to Discuss UCC, Waqf Reforms, Minority Rights
The All India Shia Personal Law Board is having a big meeting on December 28 in Lucknow.
They will talk about many important things like the Uniform Civil Code, which is a set of laws that would be the same for all people in India.
They will also discuss problems with waqf boards, which manage religious properties, and how to make sure Shia Muslims have the same rights and opportunities as others.
The meeting will include leaders and community members from all over India.
They will talk about how to stop terrorism, hate speech, and mob violence, and how to improve education and social practices within their community.
They will also discuss how to get more jobs and political representation for Shia Muslims and how to make sure they get their fair share of benefits meant for minorities.
The meeting will start at 11 AM at the Asafi Imambara, also known as the Bara Imambara.
The All India Shia Personal Law Board will hold its annual national convention in Lucknow on December 28 to discuss the Uniform Civil Code, waqf reforms, minority rights, and other issues affecting the Shia Muslim community.
The meeting will address demands for the reconstruction of shrines in Jannat-ul-Baqi, the formation of a separate panel to assess the condition of Shia Muslims, and proportional allocation of minority welfare benefits.
Delegates will condemn terrorism, deliberate on legal measures to curb hate speech and mob lynching, and consider steps to strengthen religious and contemporary education within the community.
Issues related to alleged corruption in waqf boards, sale of waqf properties, and opposition to any restriction on wearing the hijab will also be discussed.
The convention will be attended by clerics, preachers, intellectuals, and community representatives from across the country and will review the political, social, economic, and educational rights of the Shia Muslim community.
