Government Tightens Pollution Controls in Delhi-NCR
The government is taking strong steps to reduce pollution in Delhi and nearby areas.
They have told factories to install machines to check pollution by the end of the year or face closure.
The Delhi government is also forming a team to monitor pollution and has asked all departments to punish anyone breaking pollution rules.
They are using machines like road sweepers and anti-smog guns to clean the air.
Students protested demanding cleaner air, and the government is also planning to plant more trees.
The air quality is still very bad, and the government is working to fix it.
The Central government has directed industries in Delhi-NCR to install emission monitors by December 31, 2025, or face strict actions, including shutdown.
Delhi-NCR states must submit their 2026 air pollution action plans by this month.
2,254 highly polluting industries in Delhi-NCR have not yet installed Online Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (OCEMS).
Punjab and Haryana have been directed to prepare an action plan to curb stubble burning for the next paddy harvesting season.
The CPCB has dismissed claims that AQI data can be tampered with, stating that the monitoring and data collection is automated.
