HEG Shares Gain Three Per Cent After Graphite Business Demerger

HEG split its business into two separate companies.

One company will focus on graphite, while the other will focus on advanced materials.

After the split, HEG shares rose by about three per cent on the BSE.

The company was valued at ₹5,300 crore based on its NSE closing price.

Shareholders who owned shares on September 7 will receive shares in the new graphite company.

HEG Graphite is expected to begin trading on exchanges in the second half of October.

Analysts at Emkay Global estimated values for both businesses using financial models.

The company said the split could help each business focus on its own growth plans.
