Delhi Faces Severe Water Shortage
Delhi is facing a big water problem.
The Delhi Jal Board (DJB) says that the water supply will not be back to normal until February 4.
Only 3 out of 9 water treatment plants are working properly.
This means that many areas in Delhi, like Rohini, Dwarka, and others, are not getting enough water.
The problem started because Haryana stopped some water supply and the Yamuna river has high levels of pollutants.
The DJB is trying to fix the problem, but until then, people are asked to use water carefully.
The government is working to fix the issue and expects the situation to improve by January 24.
Delhi is experiencing a severe water shortage, with the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) warning of a continued shortage until February 4.
Only 3 out of 9 major water treatment plants are operating at full capacity, affecting areas like Rohini, Dwarka, Inderlok, Pitampura, Rajouri, and more.
The Wazirabad Water Treatment Plant, the city's largest facility, has been completely shut down, impacting central, north, south, and New Delhi areas.
Unscheduled maintenance on Haryana's Munak canal and high ammonia levels in the Yamuna river water have exacerbated the water crisis.
The overall disruption has resulted in a 1000 MGD shortfall, affecting almost the entire Delhi region, with water supply reduced by 45-50% even in Lutyens’ Delhi.
