Indian Oil, HPCL, BPCL Rise as Brent Crude Falls

Indian Oil, HPCL, BPCL Rise as Brent Crude Falls

Three large Indian fuel companies saw their share prices rise.

Their shares increased as Brent crude oil prices fell for the fourth day.

These companies buy crude oil and turn it into fuels and other products.

When crude becomes cheaper, their costs can decrease.

If fuel prices at retail stations do not decrease as much, the companies can earn a wider margin.

BPCL, Indian Oil, and HPCL had lost a combined Rs 74,781 crore in the April-June quarter.

Their losses came while oil prices stayed high after the West Asia war began.

Investors may be responding to the possible benefit of lower crude costs.
