Month-by-Month Roadmap Helps 2027 Students Plan Study Abroad
Studying in another country takes many months of preparation.
Students should first decide what they want to study and make a list of suitable universities.
They then need to collect school records, recommendation letters and other application materials.
Most universities also require an English test, so students should plan it early and leave time to try again.
Applications and scholarship forms should be checked carefully before they are submitted.
When offers arrive, students should compare costs, courses and career opportunities.
After choosing a university, they should apply for a visa and prepare the required documents.
Before leaving, they should arrange housing, money, travel and important contacts.
Students targeting Fall intake should begin researching universities 12 months before departure, typically from August to October of the previous year.
About 10 months before departure, applicants should gather transcripts, recommendations, statements of purpose, CVs and portfolios if required.
Around eight months before departure, students should choose an accepted English test, check score deadlines and allow time for a retake.
Six months before departure, applicants should submit applications, verify documents and track university and scholarship updates.
After receiving an offer, students should compare costs and opportunities, apply for visas three months before departure, and complete practical preparations two months before leaving.
