Maruti Suzuki Shares Drop 2% After Q1 Results
Maruti Suzuki is the biggest car maker in India.
In its first quarter of the new financial year, it made less profit than last year but sold more cars and earned more money overall.
The stock price fell a little after the results were announced.
Two big brokerages gave different opinions: Nomura said the stock is okay but has some risks, while Motilal said it could go up a lot.
They both think the company will do better as car prices rise and costs go down.
Maruti Suzuki shares fell 2.18% to Rs 13,923 after Q1 FY27 results.
Q1 FY27 net profit dropped 9% YoY to Rs 3,446.9 crore, while revenue rose 36% YoY to Rs 52,469.8 crore.
Nomura raised its price target to Rs 14,071 but kept a neutral rating, citing margin risks; Motilal kept a buy rating with a target of Rs 17,064.
Production volume increased 29.3% YoY, with domestic small car sales up 34.1%, SUVs 44.6%, and exports 28.6%; market share rose to 41.2%.
Analysts expect margin improvement from falling commodity prices and a 1‑2% price hike, with a potential 20% earnings CAGR for FY26‑28.
