India Launches Nationwide Road Safety Month
In India, several places like Bhopal, Nizamabad, and Nalgonda are starting special programs to make roads safer.
They are focusing on teaching drivers, making sure rules are followed, fixing dangerous spots on roads, and helping people after accidents.
In the past five years, many people have died in road accidents, especially in villages.
The government is asking everyone to help by teaching about road safety.
The campaign will start in January and will have activities like workshops, eye check-ups for drivers, and school kids.
The goal is to save lives by making roads safer for everyone.
Students are also being encouraged to join Road Safety Clubs in schools to learn about traffic rules and safe road behavior.
PTRI in Bhopal is launching a road safety drive based on four 'Es': Education, Enforcement, Engineering, and Emergency Care.
In the past five years, 65,214 people have died in road accidents in the region, with 14,791 deaths in 2024 alone.
Research shows more accidents occur in villages compared to urban areas.
The campaign will start in January, with more drives planned in the coming months.
Activities include workshops, seminars, eye check-up camps, and advocacy programs for drivers and schoolchildren.
