Universal Confirms International Release for Elon Musk Documentary
Universal says it still plans to show a documentary about Elon Musk in theaters outside North America.
The movie was made by Alex Gibney and lasts almost four hours.
It does not yet have a release date in other countries, including India.
Reports had said Universal might give the movie’s international rights back to its producers.
The studio later said it was working on a plan to release the film overseas.
The movie covers Musk’s technology companies, purchase of Twitter, and involvement in politics.
Musk did not participate in an interview for the film and has called it unfair and false.
His lawyers have warned that they may sue over some of its claims and material.
Universal says it remains committed to releasing Alex Gibney’s nearly four-hour documentary “Musk” in international theaters.

Reports that Universal might return the rights followed earlier uncertainty and internal discussions about the overseas rollout.
The documentary is scheduled for North American theaters in October, though reports differ on whether the date is October 9 or October 16.
Elon Musk has called the film a “hit piece” and “psy op,” while his lawyers have warned of possible defamation litigation.
