India Expands Biogas Production: New Plants and Funding
India is expanding its renewable energy sector by building compressed biogas (CBG) plants.
CEF Group has secured funding to build plants in Jammu and Ahmedabad that will convert trash into fuel and other useful products like fertilizer.
The government is also supporting these projects through the SATAT scheme, which promotes the use of CBG.
TruAlt Bioenergy and GAIL (India) Limited are partnering to build multiple new plants.
This move is expected to create jobs, reduce reliance on fossil fuels, and help the environment by reducing waste and emissions.
CEF Group secures €38 million for compressed biogas (CBG) plants in Jammu and Ahmedabad.
The plants will process municipal solid waste (MSW) and produce CBG, organic manure, and refuse-derived fuel (RDF).
TruAlt Bioenergy and GAIL (India) Limited are partnering to scale India's CBG sector with six new plants.
The Jammu and Ahmedabad plants are expected to be commissioned next year.
Projects align with the government's SATAT scheme, promoting CBG production and circular economy.
