Chennai Commuters Face Hardship Due to Poor Bus Shelters
People in Chennai are having trouble waiting for buses because many bus shelters are damaged or missing.
The city is supposed to be fixing this by building new shelters and repairing old ones.
They have money for this, but some people want to know where the new shelters will be.
Some shelters are damaged, have no roofs, or are missing altogether, which makes it hard for people to wait safely, especially during the hot weather and rain.
Commuters in Chennai face challenges due to damaged and missing bus shelters.
The Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) is addressing the issues, including building new shelters.
₹8.46 crore has been allocated for new shelters in 62 localities.
Some councillors have requested the GCC to make the list of these localities public.
The GCC is also planning to install lights at 685 bus shelters.
