Uttarakhand to Inaugurate First Yamuna Ghat on Modi’s Birthday

Uttarakhand has built its first special ghat beside the Yamuna River.

A ghat is a place where people can reach a river to pray, bathe, and perform ceremonies.

It is located at Haripur in Kalsi, Dehradun.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will open it on September 17, 2026.

The date is also Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 76th birthday.

People will perform prayers and aarti for the Yamuna during the ceremony.

The Yamuna is considered sacred in Hinduism and is worshipped as a goddess.

The new ghat may give pilgrims another important place to visit in Uttarakhand.
