EC Delists 474 Parties for Failing to Meet Rules
The Election Commission removed 474 political parties from its register because they didn't follow the rules.
This is part of a process to clean up the election system.
These parties had not contested any elections in the last six years.
Registered parties can get things like an election symbol and tax breaks.
Now, they won't get these benefits.
The Election Commission delisted 474 political parties.
The parties failed to meet regulatory requirements.
This is the second time this year the commission has removed parties.
808 parties have been removed in total over the last two months.
Unrecognised parties are registered under the Representation of the People Act, 1951.
