Zepto raises free delivery threshold to Rs 149
Zepto is a quick delivery service in India.
They recently changed their rules so that customers need to spend at least Rs 149 to get free delivery.
Before, the minimum was Rs 99.
For orders below Rs 149, they now charge Rs 20 for delivery, which is less than before.
They still don't charge extra fees for handling, late-night orders, or tobacco products.
This change is part of their plan to grow and compete with other services like Swiggy Instamart and Amazon Now.
Even with these changes, Zepto has seen a big drop in new app downloads.
They are also planning to go public with an IPO worth $1.22 billion.
Zepto raised its free delivery threshold to Rs 149 from Rs 99.
Delivery fee for orders below Rs 149 is now Rs 20, down from Rs 30 for orders below Rs 99.
Zepto continues to waive handling, surge, and late-night fees on all orders.
Competitors like Swiggy Instamart and Amazon Now have also adjusted their fee structures in response.
Zepto's new app downloads dropped by 44% month-on-month, despite fee waivers.
