Gujarat Beaches Cleared of Over 18,000 kg of Waste

In Gujarat, India, a two-week cleanup effort removed over 18,000 kg of trash from beaches.

This was done by a group that included the Gujarat Environment Management Institute and volunteers.

They cleaned places like Dwarka and Dandi.

The main problem was plastic waste, which harms sea animals and the fishing industry.

The effort also included plays and programs to teach people about keeping beaches clean.

Over 4,100 people learned about plastic hazards and eco-friendly habits.

Some communities even collected recyclable plastic.
