Namibian cheetah Gaurav dies during treatment at Kuno

Gaurav was a 10-year-old cheetah brought from Namibia to India.

He lived at Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh.

On September 12, workers found him weak and brought him in for treatment.

He was kept in a special enclosure so doctors could watch him closely.

Gaurav died at about 4 p.m.

on Monday.

Officials think he may have had a long-term health problem, but they will conduct an examination to find the exact cause.

Gaurav was one of eight cheetahs brought to India in the first group.

Six of those eight cheetahs have now died, while Asha and Jwala remain at Kuno.
