Lightning Strike Kills Electricity Employee Near Anantapur Village
B. Charan worked at an electricity substation.
On Monday, he was travelling by motorcycle with his relative M. Devanand.
When heavy rain began, they stopped and stood under a tree for shelter.
Lightning hit the tree.
Charan was badly hurt and died at the spot.
His phone was also badly damaged and reportedly exploded.
Devanand, who was a few steps away, survived with minor injuries.
Police took Charan's body to a hospital in Tadipatri for an examination.
