BJP to Go It Alone in Punjab's 2027 Assembly Elections
The BJP in Punjab, led by working president Ashwani Sharma, is planning to go it alone in the 2027 elections.
This means they won't form an alliance with any other party, unlike in the past.
Sharma believes the current government isn't doing a good job and the BJP can bring positive change to Punjab.
He mentioned that the BJP has been running various programs and thinks the people of Punjab now support the BJP.
He thinks the AAP government will not do well in the next election.
Ashwani Sharma, BJP's working president, stated the party will contest the 2027 Assembly elections independently.
Sharma's statement contradicts potential efforts to revive ties with the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD).
He cited the BJP's independent performance in the 2022 Assembly and recent Lok Sabha elections as precedent.
Sharma believes the BJP is a viable alternative and that the current AAP government will fail in 2027.
Sharma previously served as a two-time state BJP president and is currently an MLA from Pathankot.
