BMC Receives 4,047 Applications for 2,296 Non-State-Board School Seats
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) in Mumbai has received over 4,000 applications for just over 2,200 seats in their public schools that follow the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and other non-state-board curricula.
Most of these applications are for nursery admissions, which is the first level of pre-primary education.
This year, there are also seats available in Junior KG, Senior KG, and Class I because the BMC increased the number of students they can accept at five of their schools.
Last year, there were only about 1,200 seats available, so this is a big increase.
The BMC wants to make sure that all children, no matter their background, can get a good education for free.
BMC received 4,047 applications for 2,296 seats in 22 non-state-board schools.
Most applications are for nursery admissions, with additional seats in Junior KG, Senior KG, and Class I.
The number of available seats increased from 1,242 last year due to expanded intake capacity at five schools.
The BMC aims to provide free and quality education to children from all sections of society.
Deputy Municipal Commissioner (Education) Prachi Jambhekar highlighted the overwhelming response and the BMC's efforts to accommodate more children.
