Auto Dealers Need Separate Trade Certificates for Vyapar Melas
The transport department in Madhya Pradesh has said that car dealers must get a special certificate for cars they sell at big trade fairs in Ujjain and Gwalior.
The cars must stay at the fair until they are sold.
If you buy a car at these fairs, you can get a big discount on the road tax, but only if you register the car in the same city where the fair is.
Last year, many cars were sold at these fairs, and the government made a lot of money even after giving discounts.
The new rule is to make sure everyone follows the rules properly.
Auto dealers must obtain separate trade certificates for vehicles sold at Vyapar Melas in Ujjain and Gwalior.
Vehicles must remain physically present at the fair venue until sold.
A 50% rebate on road tax is granted only if the vehicle is registered in Gwalior or Ujjain.
Buyers cannot register vehicles purchased at the fairs in other districts under the rebate scheme.
Last year, 28,626 vehicles were sold in Gwalior and 36,225 in Ujjain, with the government earning Rs 185 crore in revenue.
