Health Scheme Covers 919 Hospitals, Approves ₹104.63 Crore Treatments

The New Employees Health Scheme helps government employees, pensioners and eligible family members get medical care without paying cash at the time of treatment.

It works with 919 hospitals.

Since starting on July 17, it has approved 15,395 treatments worth ₹104.63 crore.

Employees and pensioners contribute part of their basic pay or pension each month, and the government contributes an equal amount.

The scheme also provides outpatient consultations, tests and medicines at wellness centres.

There are 12 wellness centres now, and plans are in place for 25 more.

People can get emergency inpatient care at the nearest participating hospital without getting a referral first.

Eligible people do not have to wait for a health card to use the services.
