Dialysis Saves Labrador with Uterine Infection in Kolkata
Coco, a dog, was very sick with a bad infection in her tummy and kidney problems.
Her owner noticed she wasn't eating and was very tired.
Doctors used a special machine called dialysis to help clean Coco's blood because her kidneys weren't working well.
They also gave her a blood transfusion to help her get stronger.
The infection was caused by bacteria.
The treatment happened at a clinic in Kolkata, which is the first of its kind in the area.
Coco is now doing better, and she is scheduled for another treatment on Monday.
Her owner was very worried, but the doctors and the special machine were able to help save her life.
An 8-year-old Labrador named Coco underwent successful dialysis due to acute kidney distress.
Coco's owner, Prince Tripathi, sought treatment after the dog displayed lethargy and loss of appetite.
Veterinary specialist Kaustav Basu diagnosed advanced pyometra, a severe uterine infection.
The dialysis, costing approximately Rs 12,000, was performed at a private clinic.
This marks the first such facility in a private clinic in eastern India.
