Kavitha Launches Nationwide Push for 50% BC Reservation in Legislatures

Kalvakuntla Kavitha is a leader of a political party called the TRS in India.

She wants the government to give people from Backward Classes more chances to be part of the government.

These are groups of people who have been left out of many opportunities for a long time.

She started a big campaign and held a meeting in Hyderabad with thousands of people.

Her group made a list of 11 things they want the government to do.

The biggest request is to make sure Backward Classes get 50 out of every 100 seats in law-making bodies.

She asked the central government to pass the law before the Budget Session.

If they do not, she says the party will take 1,000 cars to Delhi to protest.

She also asked for India's highest civilian award for social reformers Jyotiba Phule and Savitribai Phule.

Kavitha says she will keep working until everyone gets a fair share of opportunities.
