Mamata Banerjee Defends Waqf Act
Mamata Banerjee, the Chief Minister of West Bengal, spoke about two important issues.
First, she said her government will not allow anyone to touch Waqf properties in the state, even though they have accepted the new law made by the BJP.
She also criticized the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process, which is being done before the elections.
She said this process is causing fear and even deaths among people.
She promised to help citizens and set up camps to assist them.
She also accused the BJP of trying to harass Bengali-speaking people and warned them not to try to take over Bengal by force.
Mamata Banerjee defended the implementation of the Waqf Amendment Act 2025, stating that her government will not allow anyone to touch Waqf properties in West Bengal.
She criticized the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process, alleging that it is causing fear and deaths among citizens, and accused the BJP of political motives behind the timing of the exercise.
Banerjee announced that the Trinamool Congress will set up 'May I Help You' camps statewide from December 12 to assist citizens with the SIR process.
She also accused the Centre of withholding funds from West Bengal and harassing Bengali-speaking migrants in other states.
The Supreme Court allowed the entry of a pregnant woman and her child into India, who were previously pushed into Bangladesh by the BSF.
