AIIMS Probes Teen’s Death Amid Rare Congenital Heart Defect

Tanvi Pariyani was a 15-year-old girl from Kota.

She died at AIIMS Delhi on September 1.

The hospital has begun an inquiry into her death.

Tanvi had been receiving care there since she was two years old.

Doctors had diagnosed her with two heart problems.

One was a hole between parts of the heart, called a ventricular septal defect.

The other was pulmonary atresia, which can make it difficult for blood to reach the lungs.

Her case has drawn attention to serious heart conditions present from birth in children.
