Naidu Orders Advance Plans to Tackle Water Shortage

Naidu Orders Advance Plans to Tackle Water Shortage

The leader of a big state in India called Andhra Pradesh got worried that there might not be enough water this year, so he asked his helpers to plan ahead.

A weather pattern called El Niño can make rain disappear.

Officials now think the state may get much less rain than usual.

That could mean rivers and lakes get lower, and people and animals might not have enough water to drink.

The leader asked workers to clean and fix ponds and canals so they can hold more water.

He also told them to save water in big reservoirs and use it very carefully.

Drinking water for people should come first, and farmers' crops should be protected.

If some villages run out of water, water trucks will be sent to help them.

He also wants people to learn about saving water and to take care of farm animals.

Working together like this can help everyone get through the dry time.
