RCEP Trade Bloc to Meet in Malaysia Amid U.S. Tariffs
The world's largest trade group, including China and several Asian countries, is meeting in Malaysia.
They want to make it easier to trade with each other.
This is partly to avoid high taxes (tariffs) the U.S. put on goods from Asia.
At the meeting, they will discuss changes to the trade deal and possibly let new countries join.
The Malaysian minister says China won't control the meeting because everyone agrees on working together.
The U.S. will also be part of discussions regarding trade.
RCEP, the world's largest trade bloc, will meet in Malaysia.
The summit will focus on improving the trade deal and adding new members.
The meeting aims to counter U.S. tariffs on Asian goods.
Leaders of the RCEP have not met since the deal's signing in 2020.
U.S. tariffs on Asian goods are expected to be a key discussion point.
